Perforated metal sheets: technical precision and intrinsic qualities
Perforated sheets are sheets available in different but usually very resistant materials. Perforated sheets present a series of regular holes of different shapes, sizes, spacings or patterns.
Drilling is carried out through cold metal shearing, thanks to a series of punches used in a press where the plate is positioned to be drilled.
By varying the matrix of punches or even every single punch, you can get different shapes of the holes. This is what happens also for the size, from large to small holes (microperforated sheets) with a diameter as small as 0.3 mm.
Unlike holes obtained by a drill, metal perforation  has a number of features that improve the quality:

  • No residual
  • Accuracy in the size and the distance between the holes
  • Respect for the basic scheme
  • Possibility to obtain different shapes with high precision

Perforated sheets thus obtained are used in industrial manufacturing sector such as: construction of machines and equipment, furniture, filtration, construction, air conditioning, automotive exhibitions or railings.
As mentioned, the materials used must be resistant. For this reason, the most used materials for the construction of perforated plates are stainless steel and other special steels, aluminum alloys, zinc, titanium, brass, copper. If necessary,the same results can be obtained with plastics.
Usually the standard size of a perforated sheet is 1000x2000mm while thickness ranges from 0.2 to 15mm .
